Day 4, Jarata system, False Hope

Made planetfall at Jarata today. Reconnaissance in force; myself with command, 1st and 2nd squads, Predators Ashrain and Skyfire. Veteran Sgt Renvar and squad also present. Good to be back in the field. Morale good. Company glad to be free of the tainted command of the traitor Ver’Asa. May his soul freeze at the center of the Inferno.

Highlights-

First game was seize and control at 1000 pts- I ran mostly a Tzeentch list (Two units of Thousand Sons, a Tzeentchian sorcerer and a unit of Slaaneshi termies). Bob ran a multi-god army (Slaanesh sorcerer, berzerkers, plague marines, oblits and basic marines).

Gathering Loot at Fort Hungstun

It was no secret that the Daemon Princess Jenna would be wanting to strike at such a "comically" named place. Looking for a good fight, Warlord Krogg Satogg took lead of a strike team to intercept the Chaos Marines, in an attempt to claim some much needed supplies, and take the fight to the Marines, so as to show them who truly owns supremacy in this sector.

Kabal of the Sundered Fist vs. Kideran Tomb World

The second of two engagements over the weekend. The Kabal of the Sundered fist with a detachment of Wych allies from the Cult of the Horned Skull assaulted the Kideran Tomb World Necrons on the edge of a ruined city in the Hell's Deep system.

The bitter fight resulted in a Dark Eldar victory by forcing the Necrons to Phase out.

The Horde of Perdition vs Blood Angels

 I had a random encounter today with Jon K at HobbyTown and got two 1000 pt games in. He played Blood Angels (Don't know if that counts as his Sword Angels or not). First game he played what I would consider hardcore assault marines(2+ normal save, not to mention the special characters he ran were nasty).

Weekend of Victory - Kabal of the Sundered Fist

Two engagements took place over the weekend with the Kabal of the Sundered Fist emerging victorious twice and returning to Cammoragh with more slaves.

First Contact with Forces of Order by the Kabal of the Sundered Fist, the Salamanders 2nd Company resulted in a victory for the Dark Eldar in the Jarata system!

This was the 5th episode of the Pillars of Hatred campaign for the Cadian 17th, who were lured to the dark planet of Bein-Telu by the Renegade Inquisitor, Lord Aki. Dark things lurk on this foul planet, once home to an industrious civilization. Dark forces of Chaos linger in the planet in forms of Pillars that caused the planetary population to turn on each other and hold a civil war.

That was all Shas'O Mont'Kyr knew for days.

Darkness and pain.

When he came to in the medicae of the Strike Cruiser Hand of the Emperor, the Marine Commander was in the room, watching him carefully. The Tau struggled to speak, and his words came out as a whisper.

"Guie'O, why do you watch me? Do you plan on ending my pain, like the barbarian you are?" Chapter Master Rikus merely smiled at the prone Tau, and extended his hand.

"Shas'O, if I wished you dead, you would be already. Lord Maratine has better uses for you as it is." He paused, and then continued. "Are you fit to ride in your Crisis Suit again, O' Mont'Kyr?" The Tau Commander looked at the Space Marine dumbfounded, not comprehending.

Reports had come in following the recent involvement with the Tau forces of "Firestorm".  Imperial forces were able to capture 2 of the so called Keepers, and see the Xenos forces off the battlefield.  Their commander, bold as he was, was finally injured in the battle, and Colonel Dray and his few remaining troops of his command squad were victorious.

Units pulled back under the covering fire from the Leman Russ Battle Tank and Basilisk.   Thankfully, engineering corps were able to salvage the Valkyrie, which had suffered a damaged thruster and was forced to crash land.   The Durable hull was still intact.   Maintenance crews worked around the clock to get the vehicle up and running again.
