Tuesday 40K Quiz - 10/26/2010

The Tuesday 40K Quiz is a primer to get players to think about the rules. Every week there will be five questions of varying degrees of difficulty. The answers (with page reference when appropriate) will be posted the following Tuesday.

Question #1
Can a unit that is falling back declare an assault?

Question #2
Can an Independent Character leave a unit during the Shooting Phase if the character or the unit decides to run?

Question #3
When a unit  has the opportunity to shoot at two different targets (such as a Land Raider), and the unit shoots and destroys the first target, can the player choose a different target to shoot at?

Question #4
If a non-fast vehicle moved on a road, how far can it move and still fire a primary (above S4) weapon?

Question #5
What is the Red Thirst special rule?

The answers will be posted next Tuesday.

Answers to Last Week's Questions

Question #1
What benefits does the Furious Charge special rule provide to a unit?
A: Units with Furious Charge add 1 to their Strength and Initiative when attacking in close combat. (Page 75)

Question #2
If a transport vehicle pivots and the unit inside disembarks, can the unit move as normal?
A: No. If a vehicle has already moved (including pivoting on the spot), the passengers may disembark, but not move any further in that Movement Phase. (Page 67)

Question #3
Can a unit fire an Ordnance Barrage weapon at a target that is closer than the weapons minimum range?
A: Yes, porvided the unit had line of site to the target. An Ordnance Barrage weapon can be fired directly at a target (ignoring minimum range) and is treated like a normal ordnance weapon (losing the "Barrage" abilities).  (Page 58)

Question #4
Do wounds caused by a template weapon (such as a flamer) need to be allocated to the models under the template?
A: No. Wounds inflicted by template weapons do not have to allocated on the models actually covered by the template. (Page 29)

Question #5
What benefit does the Mob Rule! ability provide for Orks?
A: All units with this ability are Fearless if the mob numbers 11 or more models. (Page 31, C:Orks)
