June 25, 2011: Only Game in Town 40k Tournament
2k points, 4 rounds @ TOGIT (Somerville, NJ)
The Only Game In Town http://www.togit.com/home will be holding a 2000 point 40k tournament on June 25th. It will be run using the NOVA style format, meaning it's a win/loss system with a primary, secondary, and tertiary objectives. Scoring will be done by a win loss system first, where the only undefeatd player at the end of the day will be the tournament champion.
It's a fairly complicated. but very accurate system for figuring out strength of schedule, much more so than battle points. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions about it, I'd be happy to explain it.
Painting will not be required, but highly encouraged. There will be a paint score, which will be done seperately from "battle points". There will be prizes for Tournament champion (only player to go undefeated), Overall champion (50% battle, 50% paint), best painted, and prizes for the 4 other 3-1 finishers.
It will be a 4 round RTT, with registration opening at 9:30 and dice rolling around 10:00am.
Registration will be $20, I highly suggest you pre register by emailing or PM'ing me. My email address is Nicknanavati@yahoo.com
We can only accomodate 16 people due to limited space.
Missions will be taken straight from the missions from NOVA. As in, standard deployment types, primary, secondary, tertiary objectives which consists of 5 objectives, table quarters (by victory points), and kill points (win by 3).
The Only Game in Town

June 25, 2011: Warhammer 40K Tournament
1500 point tournament @ Last Level
Okay, sign ups at 10:00am.
1st round to begin at 11:00am.
Each game will be 2 hours long, 1500 points, and 30 min break between each round. There is a Wendy's and a pizza shop within a block of the store, so folks will be able to grab lunch on their own.
* The store sells beverages, so they would prefer that you did NOT bring your own beverages into their establishment.
$5.00 entry fee, all goes towards prizes. This is mainly a "for fun" tournament, a test run for us to see if we need to make any changes for 'ard boyz in August.
1500 point armies, and we'll even consider allowing some forge world formations like steel legion or tyrants legion stuff like that. Just keep it simple and fun though. No proxy models, everything should be WYSYWIG, if you don't own the model, than don't put it in your list.
Painting is NOT required. There will be no painting scoring, and probably not even sportsmanship (though I personally LOVE sportsmanship), this is a test-run style tournament.
We will have some minor fun prizes for silly things announced before each round, like "first to kill off one of their own characters with a failed 'gets hot' roll", or first person to run an enemy unit off the board", stuff like that.
10:00-11:00am: Registration
11:00am-1:00pm: Round 1 games
1:00pm-1:30pm: Break (Lunch)
1:30pm-3:30pm: Round 2 games.
3:30-4:00pm: Break
4:00pm-6:00pm Round 3 games
6:00pm, tally scores.
6:20pm: announce winners and prizes.
1st place: 50% of pool of entry fees in gift card for Last Level
2nd Place: 30% of pool.
3rd Place: 20"% of Pool.
*****If I have to leave before round 3 ends (due to work), there will be someone there capable of tallying up the scores after the last round. Since game 3 will be well underway before that would happen, there is no conflict of interest in that person also playing in the tournament. Mind you this is simply a back up plan.
Look forward to seeing you there. We will be prepared for 12 players, but will be able to host more if they come.

August 25-28, 2011: Nova Open
Multiple Games @ Arlington, VA
The NOVA Open Washington, DC/Northern Virginia Tabletop Wargaming Convention
August 25-28, 2011
Hyatt Regency in Crystal City
2799 Jefferson Davis Highway
Arlington, VA 22202
US
Named for the Northern Virginia area where it is hosted, the NOVA Open is the largest war gaming convention in the Washington, DC Metropolitan region. The Inaugural NOVA occurred in August, 2010. Organizers tailored this gaming experience to the needs of and feedback from the global gaming community. We believe all manner and style of hobbyist can be accommodated and entertained within the same venue and the same events. Whether a hardcore competitive gamer, or a casual hobbyist simply looking for a few good games, the NOVA Open is designed for you.
A variety of 40K, Fantasy, Malifaux and Warmachine events are scheduled. 24-hour open casual gaming and painting competitions are being sponsored. Organized social activities will provide ample opportunity to relax, kick back with a cool beverage, and connect with fellow wargamers from around the country and the world.
Turn your trip into a vacation! The room quality/rate being extended to our guests by the Hyatt are incredible. We encourage you to extend your stay. Visit the monuments on the Capitol Mall and tour the Smithsonian’s free museums. Hyatt shuttles and the Metro make it easy. Thanks for your interest in the Open, and we look forward to seeing you in August!

October 8-9, 2011: Fort Buyaki Invitational 40K Tournament
2k/5 game WH40k and 2.4k/5 game WHFB tournament (Secaucus, NJ)
I'm pleased to announce the Fort Buyaki Invitational 40K Tournament to be held on October 8-9, 2011 held in Seacaucus, NJ. The FtBI is part of the 2011-2012 Games Workshop North American Tournament Circuit. All are welcome and invited to participate in this great event! And I expect to see many of you there!
This event will feature 5 games over the course of two days and will be held at the same site as the Warstore Weekend in cooperation with TheWarStore and TheWarStore Weekend. We expect to have at least 60 players and we are able to easily expand as player demand grows.
The FtBI features Swiss-style pairings based on game play results to crown our overall champion and we offer painting and sportsmanship awards that are scored independently from game play. We expect all players to conduct themselves in a polite and civil manner and we use a ranking system to recognize outstanding sporting individuals. The great feature of the sportsmanship ranking system is that all opponents must be ranked from best to least best which creates a clear delineation between players.
JUST ADDED:
We have also added a Warhammer Fantasy Battle tournament to the Fort Buyaki Invitational. This tournament will be a two day, 5 round event with armies of 2400 points. More info to come soon.
See http://fortbuyaki.blogspot.com/ for information.
October 8-9: Battle for Salvation Grand Tournament
Nova style open format 40K GT @ BoS (White Plains, NY)
The Battle for Salvation Gaming Group would like to proudly announce that we are taking pre-registration spots for those who are planning to attend the 2nd Annual Battle for Salvation Grand Tournament! Our event is still on Columbus Day Weekend like last year, but we plan on making this event bigger and better than before.
The Battle for Salvation GT is now a part of the Games Workshop Independent Tournament Circuit! We are also looking to increase the already substantial amount of prizes that we had last year, as well as find a larger venue to host the event. In order to pre-register for this GT, send an email to battleforsalvationtourney@yahoo.com with your name and email address. The first week that we open up registration will only be available to those who pre-registered. This will help us get an idea of how players we will need to accommodate. We want to thank all of you for helping make the Battle for Salvation one of the premier Warhammer 40K Tournaments.
The Battle for Salvation is an independently run NOVA-style Warhammer 40,000 Grand Tournament taking place Columbus Day weekend in 2011.
Its name comes from the Battle for Salvation gaming club responsible for organizing the event, which operates primarily out of space rented at the local Salvation Army. Comprised of a large number of players of varying interests and skill levels, the NOVA Open format was selected for this tournament because of its egalitarian approach that caters equally to all styles of hobby participation. Whether you’re in modeling, painting, tabletop domination, or a balance of all three, The Battle for Salvation gives you a chance to shine.
